Epoxy Pro

Built on Concrete, Sold Over the Phone

The Business

Epoxy Pro sells its own brand of epoxy floor coatings to the whole country from Cheboygan, Michigan, a few hundred yards from the Straits of Mackinac. The line runs from floor systems and primers to topcoats and complete kits. The company owns the trademark, the domain, and the website, and a Pennsylvania co-packer it has worked with for more than twenty years mixes, packs, and ships every order within 48 hours, so there is no warehouse and no inventory. Customers are do-it-yourself homeowners, flooring contractors, factories, dealerships, and government buyers who pay in full up front, and the reference list includes the U.S. Navy, the Coast Guard, and the Army. A two-person crew also installs floors across Northern Michigan, from garages to a yacht club, and 2025 was the best year in the company's history.

The owner is an Army veteran who has been putting down epoxy floors since he left the service 38 years ago. He learned the trade on factory floors for Detroit's automakers, went out on his own, and about twenty years ago saw that do-it-yourselfers would buy a good kit online if someone would pick up the phone and walk them through it. That phone became the business. He answers it himself, quotes the job, and sends the order to the factory, from job sites, deer camp, and the passenger seat of his van. A second business needs his time now, and he wanted the brand with someone who would grow the online side he built. It was time to hang up the spike shoes.

How the Deal Happened

The profile went live on Rejigg in July 2025 and drew 31 buyer conversations. Rejigg screened out three before they reached the owner, and he took the rest himself, often from the road. Many liked the brand but could not run the install crew from afar, or saw a one-person sales desk as a job. The buyer who closed it reached out on November 24, 2025 and spent more than an hour on the phone the next day. He went quiet over the holidays and came back in the new year with two friends as partners.

In July 2026 the three of them flew to Cheboygan. The owner picked them up at the airport, and they spent two days watching his crew lay two floors on Mullett Lake and filming the work. The two sides agreed terms in August, and the deal closed on September 16, 2026, just under ten months after the first call.

The Buyer

The lead buyer is a New Yorker in his mid-thirties who grew up around his family's adhesives manufacturer. His own career ran through consulting and startups, including one he co-founded, and he wanted something steadier with room to grow. He brought in two partners he has known since childhood, both with technology backgrounds. Their plan is to keep what works, the co-packer, the search campaigns, and the owner on the phone for the first ninety days, while they automate the order flow and build the video content the owner always wanted.
