Competitive Solutions, Inc. (CSI)
Strengthening a Legacy of Service and Precision

The Business
CSI was founded in 1991 and built around a simple idea: most companies don't need another strategy deck, they need a working system for accountability. Its process-based leadership methodology gives clients scorecards, meeting cadences, and action tracking that stick, and in 2004 the firm turned that methodology into software at its clients' request. That product, Visuant, has been rebuilt five times since and now drives roughly half the business, with consulting and deployment work driving the other half and each side feeding the other. Clients run from manufacturers and hospital systems to aerospace primes and government agencies, and many relationships span 20 years or more. The company has been profitable every year since founding and carries no debt.
Shane Yount co-founded the firm and remains its public face: he wrote the books on the methodology, literally, and still teaches it from conference stages. John Pyecha joined in 1993, leaving an accounting career rather than relocate to New York, and spent three decades building the sales and software sides. The team around them reflects the culture they built: most employees have been with CSI for 15 to 30 years. With John approaching retirement, the partners wanted a buyer who would work with clients directly, protect that team, and grow both halves of the business rather than strip one out.

How the Deal Happened
CSI ran a patient, deliberate process on Rejigg, engaging with 75 potential buyers to find the right fit rather than the fastest offer. The match came in September 2024, when the partners met Rob Kornblum. The two sides signed an LOI in December 2024, worked through SBA financing and diligence over the winter, and closed in May 2025. Shane Yount stayed on to lead the business and retained equity in the company, while John Pyecha handed off his responsibilities on the way to a planned retirement. The seller paid no broker fees, using Rejigg Assist's buyer sourcing services instead of a traditional broker.

The Buyer
Rob Kornblum acquired CSI through Bridgeview Legacy Holdings. A career operator in software and tech-enabled services, he had seen early in his consulting days what happens to companies that treat people as line items, and he wanted the opposite: a durable business he could run and grow for the long term. His background fit CSI unusually well, from enterprise software operations to work with government logistics programs that mirrored CSI's own defense training practice. From the first call, the partners could tell he understood both halves of the business.
