Serpentix Conveyor Corporation
Maintaining a Legacy of Engineering Excellence

The Business
Serpentix Conveyor Corporation has been solving one unglamorous, essential problem since 1969: moving sludge, screenings, and grit through wastewater treatment plants. More than 1,000 of its conveyors are installed across the country, including in five of New York City's major treatment plants. The work is municipal, bond-funded, and steady in any economy, and every system generates proprietary parts orders that continue for decades. From a 50,000 square foot facility in Westminster, Colorado, the company runs its own lasers, CNC equipment, and welding shop, and a rep network covering all 50 states gets Serpentix designed into projects before they ever go out to bid.
Robert Nusz is a one-company man. He joined Serpentix at 21, fresh out of Colorado State, and worked the shop floor, parts sales, field startups, and the sales desk before becoming general manager and, twelve years before the sale, the owner. Under his ownership the company multiplied its revenue several times over, moved into a new facility he designed himself, and modernized from an old-school welding shop into a laser-and-CNC manufacturer where he can still run nearly every machine on the floor. Heading into his fifties after three decades of carrying the business, he wanted to keep doing the part he loves, selling, without shouldering all of it alone.
Transaction Timeline
How the Deal Happened
Robert joined Rejigg in January 2025 after exploring a sale on his own, and buyer conversations started within days. He received 4 LOIs after only 3 weeks on the platform, and he used that leverage the way an owner should, pushing bidders to sharpen their terms. He signed with Dry Fly Capital in February 2025, diligence came back clean, and the deal closed in June 2025. Rather than walking away, Robert moved from owner-operator to President, staying on to lead sales and retaining equity in the company he spent his career building. The seller paid no brokerage fees.

The Buyer
Dry Fly Capital is a Colorado private equity firm founded by operators who built and sold two software companies before turning to the industrial businesses they now specialize in: distribution, manufacturing, wholesale, and services. With more than a dozen acquisitions completed, largely off their own balance sheet, they back founder-led companies and keep them running the way founders built them. For Serpentix, that meant local owners, a long-term hold, and a President who still gets to sell.
